Memory Box is an installation that gathers fragments of personal
remembrance, small video and photographic records captured over the
past years, lingering in hard drives and cloud storage. The images
unfold on a portable analog television, while sound fragments, voices,
ambiences, and field recordings are heard through headphones,
creating an intimate and introspective listening space.
The work reflects on the personal archive as an affective territory,
where time accumulates and reconfigures itself in non-linear ways.
Each sequence emerges as an echo from a different moment, composing a
constellation of memories rather than a continuous narrative. Between
the analog and the digital, Memory Box operates as a device for
collecting and reanimating memory, an attempt to preserve what
inevitably fades, while accepting the distortions of recollection.
Presented within the collective exhibition "As peças que faltam",
inspired by Henri Lefebvre’s book of the same name, the installation
evokes absence and the persistence of traces, summoning what remains
even after loss.
